I found so many new, fun things at Home Depot during this process! One of the things I discovered was peel and stick “tile” backsplash! While this has become a pretty popular upgrade, it was completely new to me att the time. This ended up being the perfect option for me, for a few reasons.

First off, I really wanted that tile look, but I was hesitant to put in real tile. For starters, I hadn’t done it before, so that would have been a process and a learning curve, and probably a lot more time. I was getting anxious to get my camper done! Second, I was nervous about having such solid pieces in such a flexible environment. With all the moving around and shifting that the camper does in travel, I could see those little tile pieces shifting and cracking.

I ended up picking out a wall tile that I bought on Amazon. I won’t lie – it was frustrating trying to get everything to line up perfectly. One thing I learned over and over during this process is that campers are not straight! The window is not necessarily in line with the countertop, so then you have to decide which “straight line” to base your tile off of. A little frustrating at the time, but the end result was wonderful and so worth it!

Update: While I still love the look of this tile, I will probably need another solution for my camper. I do not have covered parking for my camper, and therefore, it sat outside in the hot sun for most of the summer, causing the tile to peel back. Super glue seemed to help lock it in place, so if you’re going to use this method, I would suggest making sure your camper is in a shaded location most of the time, or reinforcing with super glue and not relying just on the stickiness of the tile.
